Show Your Dock in Full Screen Without Losing Your Mind

I've been using a Mac for over 17 years, and in that time I've gotten fairly particular about the settings on my machine. One of which is changing the delay and animation of hiding and showing the dock. I've started using more and more apps in Full Screen mode, and when you go to the edge of the screen to show the dock, there's a slight, but infuriating, delay before the dock appears.

Here's a simple Terminal command that will make the dock appear instantly (with the slide animation intact):

defaults write autohide-delay -float 0 && killall Dock

If you want to restore the default delay, you can use the following command:

defaults delete autohide-delay && killall Dock
